Aside from the consumerism overload the thing that I was most thrilled with at QuiltCon was meeting some of my quilting guru's in real life.
I have followed @GE Quilt Designs ever since her first Covid quilt along so was thrilled to meet Gudrun and her lovely hubbie Mr HP. https://gequiltdesigns.com/
HollyAnne Knight from String and Story was the same whirl wind you see on You Tube but took time out to help me pick some panels. Sorry to her girls on the stand that I mentioned her wool pressing mats smelt like wet horses - they couldn't stop smelling them for the rest of the afternoon!
Britney from Lo and Behold Stitchery was so generous with her time with my 'bordering on stalker' friend Mary.
I was also thrilled to bump into and talk to Amber from Alderwood Studio and also my teacher for the Pattern writing Academy and last, but not least I pulled on my big girl panties and went to say hi to Misty Doan from MSQC https://www.missouriquiltco.com/as she was waiting for a taxi outside the venue.
It just shows how much time I spend on the quilting sites because I swear, I can walk past my friends on the street and not recognise them!
