Is there any quilter who has not made this quilt by the wonderful Pat Sloan ?!
This was our first big group project at Prague Quilters and after a trip to Dresden in Germany to a fabric market
http://www.stoffmarktholland.de ( fabulous by the way and if ever this world gets back to normal you must go) we decided to go with a blue theme. We came back with several bags full of fat quarters and threw them into the pot, swinger style!
To this day even after making 4 huuuuge quilts between us we still have enough blue fabric to last us an eternity- and thats even after making a boat load of face masks!
Am sure I must have been given the pattern but all I heard from my colleague was that I should sew my squares together in groups and that is what I did. Boy, did I make that quilt harder than it was necessary! Rather than ripping seams, for which I wasn't psychologically prepared at that stage, we decided that we would work around my mess and somehow fit the stars around what I had done. Oh my, talk about a process but what I did learn was that you should always - yes always read the pattern and never try to second guess.
For all you newbies if you want to get the free Oh My Stars pattern go to :
Make sure you sign up to Pat Sloan's You Tube channel as well as she does a daily chat and always has a lot of free quilt patterns and quilt-a-longs to join in with.
